What We’re Currently Reading

We go to our local library every week for story time.  Story time is a great, free thing to do with the kids.  We attend family story time which is perfect for all ages.  There are songs, poems, books, and sometimes concerts or plays.

After story time we check out 15-20 books for the week.  It always breaks my heart because story time is packed with kids but then only one or two of us actually check out books afterward.  Think about it…if we read 15 books a week we’d read almost 800 books a year.  Not bad!  But I’ve estimated that we read 3-7 books a night before bed…call it 5 on average…which is over 1800 books a year.  If you count the other books I read every day….chapter books to Gus, board books to Sam, and other books to Max…then we are easily over 2,000 books a year!  And it’s not even that hard to do!  We usually finish reading all the library books in the first few days and then re-read the ones we love the most again and again.

Here I’ll post our favorite books of the week so you can enjoy them too!
